Regarding gameplay, the Remastered version has remained faithful to the original Gamecube release, which is both a blessing and a curse. While the battle system is still enjoyable and deep, it feels somewhat dated compared to more modern JRPGs. The remake had an opportunity to introduce some quality-of-life improvements but sticks to the original mechanics. For me, this was not an issue as I regularly play older JRPGs, but I can imagine it might not be as easy for everyone.
All in all,
Tales of Symphonia Remastered is a welcome return to a beloved classic. The enhanced graphics and audio make the game more appealing than ever, while the faithful gameplay remains for those seeking a nostalgic journey. Although some modernization of the gameplay would have been desirable, this Remastered version is still a great way to rediscover a timeless adventure or to experience it for the first time.
