Although each route lasts only a few hours, it has enough depth to be enjoyable. I was quite pleased with these relatively short routes. Not every otome game needs to have routes that exceed ten hours. It's lovely to be able to finish a route over a few evenings. There aren't many connections between the routes, so you don't need to rush to play them all back-to-back.
The protagonist is like a blank canvas. You as the player will need to fill in the gaps yourself. She doesn't speak; you only hear her thoughts. This can feel quite strange if you're not used to it. She also doesn't have eyes. All these choices are made so that you as the player can project yourself onto the character. It's something you either like or you don't. Overall, it's quite well executed and even works for those who don't wish to immerse themselves in the character.
All in all, Sympathy Kiss is an entertaining and light-hearted snack. It manages to touch and surprise the player. Additionally, the shorter routes are a definite plus, making it easy to pick up the game.
