Super Mario Party is a game that has been released on every Nintendo platform since the Nintendo 64, including the Nintendo Switch. However, this is a whole different console, so I always hope for fun and new mini-games that make full use of it. And to be honest, Super Mario Party does not disappoint in this aspect!!
Of course, there are also familiar old mini-games, but innovations are always welcome in these kinds of party games.
The game boards look fun and colorful, and the graphics definitely shine on the Switch.

Enough fun to keep you entertained for a while
Super Mario Party is always a fun game to play both alone and with friends. The game looks polished and the mini-games play very smoothly. The game is divided into a number of stages, and on each stage, you can try a different game mode. The most enjoyable addition in the Switch version is the River Survival Mode, where you try to reach the other side of the river within the given time. Along the way, you encounter enemies and obstacles that make it a lot more challenging, and you can play mini-games to gain extra time.
The different boards in the regular game could have been a bit more extensive; sometimes they just lack a bit of spectacle. Overall, the board game variant is fun as always, but it can sometimes become boring quite quickly, especially because you only have a total of 4 different (small) boards. Cijfer:

Looking for Mario Party? Skip that and go for the Superstars instead.
At first glance, the game seems promising, but it's quite a letdown. Firstly, you can only play it in TV mode and tabletop mode, not in handheld mode, which is a shame if you want to relive the nostalgia of the Nintendo DS.
Furthermore, there are few boards, and so far, no DLC has been released to expand on them.
But what frustrated me the most is that a golden pipe in the shop costs 10 coins instead of 20 like in other Super Mario Party games. This makes it way too easy to become a superstar and lacks the challenge. Cijfer:

Great for the Switch
Super Mario Party is a fun, jam-packed Mario Party game with a whopping 84 minigames, 4 game boards, and a wide selection of Mario characters! The minigames are mostly original, with some classics from previous Mario Party games. The same goes for the game boards. You can enjoy playing against your friends, online, and even in co-op mode! Mario Party works seamlessly on the Switch thanks to the Joy-Cons, as everyone can simply use 1 Joy-Con each! It's fun but...
Super Mario Party for the Nintendo Switch offers a festive experience full of colorful graphics and fun mini-games. However, the lack of online multiplayer for the main mode is a downside. The game truly shines in local multiplayer mode. It's especially enjoyable to play this game together with friends.
I personally find the successor to this game muuuuch more enjoyable. But that's just my opinion ;). Cijfer:
