Super Mario 64 has finally been surpassed.
You won't find a better Mario game. For a long time, Super Mario 64 was my favorite. But Super Mario Odyssey is the best in terms of variety, variable difficulty levels, and everything being in fantastic HD in a 3D world.

The Ultimate 3D Mario Game with Brilliant Sidekick Cappy
Super Mario Odyssey has completely exceeded my expectations. As a fan of Super Mario 64 and Sunshine, I thought it would be difficult to match that experience. But when I popped Odyssey into my Nintendo Switch, I immediately knew that this is the ultimate 3D Mario game. The levels are grand, immersive, and stunningly beautiful. Each kingdom you visit is unique and packed with surprises. It feels like I'm embarking on a new adventure every single time.

Cappy, Mario’s new hat friend, is a brilliant addition to the game. He offers an endless variety of ways to play. You can take over enemies, solve puzzles, and discover hidden spots. I feel that Cappy is the most inventive sidekick I've ever encountered in a game. It not only makes the gameplay more challenging but also incredibly fun and addictive. I can't get enough of it.

If you have a Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Odyssey absolutely needs to be in your collection. It's a gem that you don't want to miss. The combination of nostalgia and innovation makes it a fantastic experience. Everything about this game is spot on. It's beautifully crafted and a true joy to play.

Mario Odyssey is pure 3D fun!
Mario is back! With a new 3D platformer in Super Mario Odyssey! And just like all the previous games, Nintendo has once again managed to create a great game.

If you've played another game from the 3D Mario series before, you have a good idea of what to expect. 3D levels focused on exploration and collecting. Each level has multiple moons, and you'll need to find them to unlock new levels.

So, this game is more like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine: fewer levels but more to do per level. The Galaxy games were different, they had many more levels but fewer stars per level.
One difference from 64 and Sunshine is that Odyssey is more linear in terms of gameplay progression. Most levels or kingdoms are visited in a fixed order (with 2 exceptions where the player can choose between 2 kingdoms), and you'll always need to collect a certain number of moons in the last unlocked kingdom before you can progress to the next one. You can revisit previous levels, but the moons from previous levels don't count towards unlocking the next level in this case.
The kingdoms offer a lot of variety. Cascade Kingdom (the first level) is a good start for the game, Desert Kingdom is very large and has a lot of moons, Metro Kingdom is fun to walk through, whether on the streets or rooftops, and so on.
Mario's controls have been perfected in this game, which also makes exploration more enjoyable. Long jumps, dives, triple jumps, almost all the old jumps and moves are back. The addition of Cappy provides even more jumping possibilities. Cappy is not only used to hit enemies and possess them, but you can also use it for an extra jump.

Whether you just want to reach the end or really want to find all the moons, you'll enjoy this game in both cases, it's highly recommended.

A must-have for the Switch!
Super Mario Odyssey is the first 3D Mario game for the Switch. There are many different worlds in the game, all with new things to do. Now you also have someone else helping you on your adventure: Cappy. With Cappy, you can take over various enemies.

There are a whopping 880(!) moons to collect in Super Mario Odyssey. So, you won't get bored quickly. You can also play this game with a friend: one plays as Mario, the other as Cappy. However, the amiibos don't do much in the game: you only get some coins or a heart. There are also jump rope and volleyball challenges, which can be quite frustrating.

It's great that there's so much to do in Super Mario Odyssey: truly, anything is possible. Additionally, there are many glitches in the game, which can also be fun to discover. Most of them are for real experts though. Definitely worth playing!

The best 3D Mario game so far
A fantastic game with plenty to do and discover. This is definitely a game that can be enjoyed by both young and old. The various worlds are very enjoyable to explore.

With the new capture ability, you can now control creatures. Fly like a bullet-bill, stack up Goombas, swim like a cheep-cheep, and so much more.

A very enjoyable Mario game and all in HD. Definitely recommended!

A Masterpiece

Almost perfect!!
This is truly a fantastic 3D Mario game on the Switch. In Super Mario Odyssey, you play as Mario and Cappy, embarking on a journey through various kingdoms. Along the way, you meet friends and foes alike. The best part of this game is that you can actually play as your enemies! Throw Cappy at them and you can control them. This allows you to fly as Lakitu and throw hammers as Hammer Bro. It's incredibly fun to do, and I really enjoyed it. However, the final bosses are quite easy and not very engaging. They could have used more attention to make them more challenging.

A groundbreaking world for Mario
Super Mario Odyssey is an incredibly innovative game in the Mario franchise. The concept of Mario, where you travel through different worlds and levels, has been translated well into a more open version in Mario Odyssey. Throughout the entire game, you encounter unique challenges, enemies, and puzzles.

A Mario game wouldn't be a Mario game if there weren't additional levels after the final battle. This is certainly the case with Mario Odyssey, I even believe that almost half of the time you spend on this game will be after the last battle. The game eventually becomes quite challenging and provides a real test.

In my opinion, Mario Odyssey is a true must-have for the Switch!

Must-have Mario game for the Switch!
This is the Mario 3D adventure for the Switch. The game features fun levels and beautiful graphics. It also includes a plethora of hidden moons to collect and references to the older Mario games. You can spend hours trying to collect all the moons. By throwing Cappy (Mario's cap) at certain things and animals (like a frog), you become the object or the animal and can, for example, jump higher than you normally can. This adds a refreshing gameplay element. The only downside I find is that the game is quite easy, but for some, that might actually be a plus.

Awesome game!
I think this is one of the best games ever. Just finished Super Mario Odyssey! Cappy is really nice, it's not too difficult but still challenging. The end bosses are really fun and cool!

One of the Best Mario Games
Super Mario Odyssey is, in my opinion, one of the best Mario games, mainly because the controls are not difficult and the content of the game provides a lot of fun. Even after completing the main story, you can still continue to collect more outfits, etc. There are also multiplayer activities that appear later in the game. Overall, this is a very enjoyable game, and it also makes good use of the newer Switch controls.

Super Mario Odyssey is one of the best 3D Mario games ever created. Super Mario Odyssey is a 3D open-world Mario game and has everything you would expect from a 3D Mario game: original levels, boss fights, enemies, numerous levels, secret levels, and much more. The game features 15 unique Kingdoms with a whopping 880 hidden moons! In this game, you collect moons instead of stars and shines. Furthermore, the addition of Cappy is fantastic. With Cappy, you can move around freely and perform cool jumps. The controls are almost perfect, and the game looks amazing. You'll definitely want to set aside some extra time to complete this game 100%, as there is plenty to do!

Cappy offers refreshing gameplay, but replayability is lacking.
Super Mario Odyssey on the Nintendo Switch has truly gained a fun addition with Cappy. Cappy allows you to take over enemies, which really sets the game apart from the other Mario titles. The different worlds you can explore are all fantastic and creatively designed.

For me, it's a game that you pick up again and again. However, I find that I don't always feel the urge to complete it fully. Perhaps that's because the story doesn't always remain engaging. But all in all, it's a lovely experience that you definitely should try.

Simply a great game with lots to do
Personally, I think Super Mario Odyssey is truly the best Mario game ever. It has a ton of things to collect: outfits, stickers, and moons of course! It has a fantastic game concept that works really well! It also takes a long time to complete it 100%, which I find very enjoyable. There are many secrets to discover and plenty of worlds in general; I would definitely recommend this game.
