Frustrating at the beginning...
I find it a shame that it's in English, someone falls down and there's talking, and then I appear and Sonic falls out of a purple portal. Then I'm curious about the story... You can choose your own character completely, and during the game, you gradually get more clothes. That's done in a super fun way, I'm a yellow little Wolf. The games alternate between 2D and 3D, mostly involving a lot of running. In the beginning, it's a bit frustrating because of all the button combos, but at some point, you'll get the hang of it!

Short but sweet!
Sonic Forces for the Nintendo Switch is a fantastic game in terms of story and gameplay. The game is fast-paced and the story is amazing! However, the game is very short and can be completed in 3 to 5 hours.

Sonic Forces starts off strong, with Sonic and his friends losing control over the land. Of course, Eggman is behind this and has left challenging levels for Sonic and his friends to overcome. To assist Sonic and his friends, you also get to create your own character, 'The New Kid'.

You'll play through various fast-paced levels, encountering different jumps, villains, and other obstacles. While this all sounds very positive, there are also some downsides. The game is notably short. It's a shame considering how incredibly good the game is.

Sometimes fun, but often boring
In Sonic Forces, you play alternately as Sonic, Classic Sonic, and your own character. You can choose from different animals for this and after each level, you get clothing for your character.

The game looks nice, but can be quite boring, especially compared to other Sonic games. By using the boost button, you can defeat enemies by simply running through them, and the levels are often a straight line. Also, the levels are very short. The alternation between 2D and 3D is fun though.

I enjoyed the boss battles the most, even though they were often too easy.

The story is not amazing, but easy to follow. It is nice that there are more characters from older Sonic games in this game, like Silver and Shadow.

When you start a new game in Sonic Forces, you get to create an Avatar for the story mode. If you want to make multiple Avatars, that's not possible at the beginning. Only after you complete the story mode and have seen the credits will you get the option to create new Avatars. You can then also switch between the Avatars in the Avatar Menu.
