Lots of potential!
As a big fan of the Pokémon series, I was really looking forward to Pokémon Violet. The game has its highlights, but unfortunately, there are also a few significant downsides.

Let's start with the positives. The new region and the Pokémon are really fun and refreshing. The gameplay feels familiar and the open world is a big plus, with the addition of new mechanics keeping it interesting. The story was okay. Not as good as previous titles.

But then we get to the negatives. Graphically, Pokémon Violet is unfortunately disappointing in some areas. The textures and details sometimes feel a bit outdated. The world often feels empty as well. You walk through large and open areas that sometimes just don't offer enough. There is a lack of elements and it feels like there could have been more to it.

All in all, I had a good time with Pokémon Violet, but the graphical limitations and the sometimes empty environments are things that could have been much better. It remains a nice addition to the series, but I hope that future titles will be better.

An open-world Pokémon adventure
This Pokémon game takes a different approach. No longer do you have to follow one path from gym to gym to ultimately become the champion. Instead, the game lets you decide what you want to do. The whole of Paldea is explorable. Since this is still a fairly large world, Miraidon is by your side. You can ride this legendary Pokémon and explore Paldea more easily.

Of course, the gyms are still present, but in addition, there are 2 other storylines to follow.

How can you change the Tera Type of your Pokémon?

It’s possible to give one of your Pokémon a different Tera Type of your choice. In Medali City, after defeating the Gym Leader there, you can speak to the person behind the bar in the restaurant. In exchange for 50 Tera Shards of a specific Type, they will change one of your Pokémon’s Tera Types to the corresponding Type. Tera Shards can be found on the ground in Area Zero, but you also receive them as rewards for winning Raid Battles. Each Raid always gives at least 2 Shards, and if you’re the host, you’ll get an additional 2, plus there’s always a small chance of getting one more. The Type of the Shards you receive from the Raid will always match the Tera Type of the Raid Pokémon in question.

However, the answer to the question, “Which Tera type is the best?” isn’t so straightforward. It largely depends on the Pokémon, as Abilities and Movesets have a significant impact on this. There are a few relatively common and popular Tera Types. Electric or Water are often chosen because these Types have few weaknesses. However, Types that provide immunity can also be interesting (e.g., Ghost) in Pokémon Violet.

To obtain Herba Mystica, you'll need to participate in 5 or 6-star Terra Raid Battles. There are certain Pokémon that have an increased chance of dropping Herba Mystica, so these are the best raids to take part in.
