Old game in a new coat
In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the goal is to travel from town to town and along the way catch Pokémon to complete your Pokédex. This last part is also very useful in the "Underground" where different Pokémon roam that you won't encounter above ground. Where the wall sparkles, you can "mine" and extract materials and fossils from the wall. These are needed to evolve Pokémon that you can't find anywhere else. This will keep you busy for a while since you need a lot of Mysterious Shards to enter Ramanas Park in the end and catch various legendaries. Facing the well-known Elite Four to complete the main game is also no joke, but with the right Pokémon, you can easily handle it. The graphics have been adjusted to this era, so very well done.

A remake of top DS games
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl on the DS were my first Pokémon games, so I was definitely curious to see how they would translate these games to the Switch.
I must admit that I was a bit disappointed that the remakes are basically just the DS games again. There are some improvements (The Underground, running shoes...), but otherwise, it's essentially the DS game on your Switch.
Fortunately, the DS games were already very good, so this is certainly not a bad game. If you're a Pokémon fan, I would recommend Pokémon Shining Pearl and especially if you never had the chance to play the DS games.

One of the most enjoyable Pokémon games for the Switch!
I think this Pokémon game is one of the best for the Switch. You get to choose from fun starter Pokémon and I really like the story as well. Moreover, I am a big fan of the art style that has been used. You can also do things underground which I find to be a nice addition. All in all, a delightful Pokémon Shining Pearl for the Switch.

After you've earned the National Pokédex, the number of Pokémon you can encounter and catch in the Grand Underground will increase!
