An okay Pokémon game
Personally, I didn't find the Let's Go series to be all that great. It was nice to get a remake of the Kanto region, but it's clear that this game is trying to lure people who have played Pokémon Go into the more classic Pokémon games.
Catching Pokémon now happens just like in Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!. The actual game is quite easy. It is fun that your Pokémon can follow you again. Some of them you can even ride. Eevee is your starter in this game and stays with you throughout the whole adventure.

Cute and Charming Pokémon Adventure
Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! is a bit of a peculiar Pokémon game. On one hand, it can be seen as a remake of the classics Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue. The game features Pokémon from the first generation, and the Kanto Region is a delight to revisit with its beautiful colorful graphics.

On the other hand, Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! heavily borrows elements from the immensely popular game Pokémon GO! You cannot battle wild Pokémon and can only catch them by making a good throw with the Joy-Con Controllers or touchscreen.

Although Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! doesn't provide a full-fledged Pokémon experience, it is indeed a very pleasant, cute, and charming game to play through!

Amazing yet Easy Kanto Remake
I started playing Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! because I wanted to experience Pokémon in a more casual way.
Having seen some reviews beforehand, I was already aware that the level of difficulty leaves much to be desired.

However, despite the lack of challenge, I really enjoyed traveling through Kanto again with the enhanced graphics that the Nintendo Switch has to offer. The overworld view, where you see various Pokémon roaming around in villages, cities, mountains, forests, and seas, looks fantastic. When you want to catch a Pokémon, you simply walk into it and try to catch it. You can do this by using the motion controls of the Joy-Con or the Poké Ball Plus accessory to throw a Poké Ball.

Personally, I don't make use of this feature, but I believe it adds value for other players that the game can also interact with Pokémon Go.

How do you maintain your catch combo in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!?

When you catch the same Pokémon multiple times in a row, you build up a catch combo. However, you can lose the combo if a Pokémon runs away from you (regardless of whether it's the same Pokémon that you built your combo with or not). But there's a trick to outsmart the fleeing Pokémon and escape from the battle yourself without losing your combo.

When you catch a Pokémon, you'll see a circle (where you need to throw to try and catch the Pokémon), and within this circle, there's a smaller circle that keeps shrinking (throwing the ball in this circle gives various bonuses). After a while, this smaller circle will return to the size of the larger circle and start shrinking again (and this repeats). When a Pokémon is about to flee, these circles will disappear. So, when this happens, you need to make sure you exit the battle before the wild Pokémon does. If you manage to do that, you'll keep your catch combo and won't have to start over from scratch in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

Catching a different species of Pokémon or restarting the game will also break your combo, so definitely avoid doing that if you want to keep it! Putting your system into sleep mode without actually quitting the game is fine; this won’t break your combo.
