Payday 2 on the Nintendo Switch brings the intense co-op experience of bank heists to a handheld platform. I found that the core of the game, where you plan and execute complex heists together, remains addictive. The game offers countless possibilities thanks to the extensive variety in missions and characters. In my opinion, this makes the game exciting and challenging in itself.
Unfortunately, the experience is diminished by technical limitations. The unstable framerate and graphical downgrades make the action less smooth at times, which can be frustrating when you're in the middle of an exciting heist. Moreover, there are missing updates and content compared to other platforms, making this version less appealing for players seeking the full experience.
While the idea of playing Payday 2 on the go on the Nintendo Switch sounds great, this port feels like a missed opportunity to really impress. The technical shortcomings and missing content unfortunately detract from what could have been a fantastic co-op experience.
