Unique accessory for collectors, less needed for everyday use
I purchased the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con AA Battery Pack more from a collector's perspective than for actual use. It’s a unique accessory, a battery compartment for the Joy-Con controllers. The Nintendo Wii remotes always ran on batteries too, so perhaps Nintendo thought these would be necessary as well.
In reality, the Joy-Con batteries only run out during marathon gaming sessions. Normally, the Joy-Cons last about 15 hours. For me, the AA Battery Pack isn’t really necessary.
