Nexomon: Extinction, as the name suggests, is a bit of a Pokémon-like game with its own twist.
The goal is to defeat Omnicron, the king of all Nexomons, with your own party of monsters, each with their own characteristics. At the beginning, you set out and choose 1 starter from a list of 7. While on your journey, just like in the Pokémon games, you encounter Nexomons in the grass and face trainers who adapt to the level of your own party, making battles sometimes more challenging. Fighting is done using stamina. When it runs out, you can replenish it or switch to another Nexomon, otherwise you simply skip a turn and your meter slowly refills. Because battles are more difficult than the usual Pokémon battles, it can be frustrating that you have to heal after a few battles. Catching Nexomons is done with so-called Nexotraps, of which there are different types. For example, with a fire trap, it's much easier to catch fire Nexomons, and the same goes for all the different types. Nexomons can also evolve, allowing you to try to complete your collection. There are a total of 300 different little monsters, so you won't get through them quickly. A lot of hours go into training your party (you can have 6 in it) and back-and-forth trips to healing centers. Many quests and side quests provide hours of gameplay. There's nothing to complain about regarding the graphics, and the loading times are okay. A real recommendation for any Pokémon fan looking for a similar game!
