Extremely versatile, but sometimes a bit too much
As a fan of Harvest Moon, this game caught my eye, so I decided to give it a try. And I have to say, it did not disappoint! In My Time at Portia, you have an incredible amount of options to spend your time. Will you focus on upgrading your own workshop and all workbenches to the maximum? Will you take on tasks for your fellow townspeople that not only earn you money but also relationship points? Or will you purely focus on the main missions, because even then, you will be occupied for hours and hours!
Then there are also regular events. Think boxing matches, snowball fights, but also potlucks and crafting competitions. Furthermore, there are the mines and the Wasteland. In the mines, you can get lost if you dig too many tunnels, but fortunately, you are always transported back to your bed at a certain time. I personally found the Wasteland the most enjoyable part with a combat element in it.
Sometimes the versatility can also be a disadvantage. After 20+ hours, I struggled with the long waiting times for crafting and the labor-intensive gathering of materials. Because there is so much, you have to search in many different places. Additionally, there are quite a few bugs in the game. Sometimes amusing (a cow with only its rear end sticking out of the ground), but sometimes really annoying, as they can cause missions to get stuck.

Colorful RPG/simulation with a variety of game elements
My Time at Portia is a fun and colorful RPG/simulation game that fits right in with Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing. You find yourself in a post-apocalyptic world (albeit a lively and colorful version) and you start working in your father's workshop. In the game, you receive commissions to build tools in order to develop the town of Portia. These tools are crafted on different workbenches that you also create yourself. You gather the necessary materials by fishing, chopping trees, or exploring the many mines in the area. Along the way, you also uncover more about Portia's history and build relationships with its inhabitants (you can even form romantic relationships and go on dates). The game includes some combat, but it's not the main focus and is relatively easy.
One thing I noticed in the game is that there are quite a few bugs. During one of the side quests, the game completely froze for me. Fortunately, it wasn't a crucial quest and didn't impact my gameplay. Also, my chickens/ducks have their heads stuck in the ground, but this doesn't affect the gameplay either. Just be prepared to encounter some bugs.
Overall, it's a good game with a wide range of activities that can keep you entertained for many hours. I recommend it for both young and old players who enjoy simulation games.

Versatile, fun simulation game
’My Time at Portia’ is a versatile simulation game. As in many simulation games, the story starts with a piece of land and a small farm. Over time, you expand the farm, complete more quests, and become friends with the residents of the village of Portia.
What sets this game apart from other simulation games is the immense diversity it offers. You can craft a lot yourself (and for others), focus on mining, fishing, farming, gathering materials in the wild, and so much more. If you feel pressed for time, there's an option in the game to slow down time!
This game never bores me and definitely ranks in my top 3 of simulation games.
