Technical Issues Overshadow Gameplay on Nintendo Switch
Mortal Shell: Complete Edition for the Nintendo Switch offers the intense action-RPG experience on the go. I feel the game is still challenging, especially due to the deep combat mechanics and the unique "hardening" system. This requires you to think strategically during fights, which I personally really enjoy. However, I did notice that the technical performance on the Switch leaves something to be desired.
Unfortunately, the resolution is a bit less sharp and the textures look blurry. This makes the game less visually appealing than I had hoped. The framerate also stutters at times, which can lead to frustrating moments during gameplay. For me, this affects the intense and immersive atmosphere that made the original version so great. It feels like the magic of Mortal Shell doesn't quite come through on the Switch.
Still, the Complete Edition is appealing for those new to the world of Mortal Shell. It includes all the extra content, which is a nice addition. But if you have the option to play the game on another platform, I would definitely consider that. The technical limitations make it hard to recommend this version over others.
