Nostalgic journey with technical limitations on the Switch
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 brings some of the most iconic games from the Metal Gear Solid series to the Nintendo Switch, and for me, it's a mixed experience. The collection offers access to classics like Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, along with extra content like digital soundtracks and historical extras. For long-time fans, it's fantastic to relive these masterpieces, but the technical presentation can sometimes be a bit disappointing.

The games remain true to their original form, which is nostalgic for the connoisseurs. However, the technical presentation reveals the limitations of the Switch. The resolution and framerate are not optimal, making the experience sometimes less smooth than hoped. It's a shame that more attention wasn't paid to optimizing these aspects for the platform. Additionally, while the controls are functional, they can feel a bit clunky, especially for newcomers who aren't used to the original gameplay mechanics.

For seasoned Metal Gear Solid fans, this collection is a nostalgic journey that allows them to experience the games again. But the limited optimizations do leave some disappointment. It's still a lovely collection for those wanting to relive their favourite moments, but if you're hoping for a fully optimized experience on the Nintendo Switch, you might be a bit less enthusiastic.
