Nostalgic Arcade Classics with Online Multiplayer Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics on the Nintendo Switch is a fantastic collection of seven classic fighting games, including well-known titles like X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. I found that this collection offers both nostalgic gamers and newcomers the chance to relive these iconic games. The addition of online multiplayer with rollback netcode provided me with a smooth and responsive online experience, although the lack of crossplay can sometimes make finding opponents take a bit longer.
What I also really enjoyed is the museum in the collection. Here you can find illustrations and soundtracks that add extra appreciation for fans of these classic titles. In my opinion, it’s a lovely way to honour the history of the games. The controls on the Nintendo Switch take a bit of getting used to at first, especially with the Joy-Con controllers, but ultimately it stays true to the original arcade versions.
For fans of classic fighting games, this collection is a valuable addition. It offers a comprehensive and authentic experience on a modern platform, and I loved playing these classics again. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is in my view a must-have for any fan of the genre.
