Do you know which version of the game was delayed even longer? Do you know which console is even weaker than the PS4? The Switch. And now we have finally arrived at the Switch version. The version that was initially thought to be a cloud version because there was no way Hogwarts Legacy could run locally on the Switch, right?
Well, it can, and that's what makes this version so incredibly impressive. The graphics have taken the biggest hit. Those amazing landscapes, detailed rooms, and sublime character designs are no longer there. Still, the game looks pretty decent for a Switch game.
The game runs at an average of around 30 FPS. The loading times are quite long, but that's to be expected. Besides that and the graphics, the game is very comparable to the PS5 version. Average main storyline, very good side quests, interesting NPCs. Sebastian Sallow is an intriguing ethically gray character, Ominis Gaunt is a nice guy, Headmaster Black lives up to his description as the most hated Headmaster.
Casting spells is fun, combat is decent, although sometimes a bit easy. And of course, the thing that Hogwarts Legacy did so well on the PS5 is also present on the Switch, namely that dream of being able to walk around Hogwarts, to be a wizard. So many people as young children dreamed of receiving an invitation to Hogwarts, of being able to explore the wonderful world of Harry Potter, and this game is the closest that dream has ever come.
