To eliminate the enemies, you can move the right joy-con over the enemies and then it locks on. You can shoot down eight enemies at a time. If you time this well with the music, you shoot laser rockets. You have a total of three lives.
In a level, you have to fly through a course while eliminating enemies. This sounds simple, but is actually quite a good challenge. For example, there is no checkpoint system and the levels can sometimes be over five minutes long.
There are also boss battles. I found the transition from navigating a course in regular levels to the boss battle to be well executed. The boss battles are very tough and require a lot of focus. I found the designs of the bosses to be impressive, paired with the levels they are in.
At the end of each level, there is a section where you have to follow a blue line. If you do this correctly, you get a lot of points and multipliers. While doing this, the joy-con vibrates intensely and the music's intensity increases at the same time. If you accidentally veer off the line, it costs you a life.
Personally, this kind of music is not for me, but objectively speaking, they have fantastically combined and executed the music and level design.
